Ford Explorer
It is indeed great to write about a car, which has managed to be the most favorite and popular SUV of America! With many brands emerging and vanishing in this fast paced world, Ford Explorer has managed to keep its foot firm in the business of selling the most preferred car in its class.
As a matter of fact, it's the sixth best-selling vehicle. It has become the standard suburban family hauler though capable as a tow vehicle. Most of these Explorers spend their lives shuttling people and performing all the duties of station wagon. This is one of the major reasons for its popularity. The Explorer is roomy and quite comfortable. You can take a break form your work and go along with your family and friends for an excellent outing. It can seat comfortably more than seven people when equipped with an optional third row seat which can be folded to a cargo floor when not needed.
There are abundant safety features for Explorer. It is stable and comfortable with its wheels pushed out toward the corners. Low frame rails manage to keep its front and rear bumpers at a level optimum for improving the safety for the non-SUV drivers around you. Explorer's style is fresh and contemporary. It is the most handsome looking vehicle in its class, though ubiquitous! The front and rear look much integrated and sophisticated.
Various combinations of bright, color-contrasting colors distinguish this SUV from rest! The wheel treatments for this car are also different at its every level. It proves good evening long trips. Some model of this Ford Explorer comes with cloth seats, which are comfortable, firm and supportive along with a lot of adjustments. The same is held true for other models of the same car with leather seats.
Driving Ford Explorer gives you a pleasurable experience. The ride is smooth and stable on the highway and steadies even on winding roads. Some models can give excellent acceleration out of corners. With regard to the ride quality and handling it has clearly overtaken any other SUV in its class.
There isn't much cargo space behind the third row though it easily folds away but may not be neatly. Because of the irregular folding of the second and the third row seats, the load surface slopes back toward the rear hatch. With a sliding cover bridging the gap between two folded seats, you could still lose small items through cracks and the platform isn't made pet friendly though there is enough room for accommodation. Off road, the Explorer fails to measure upto the Toyota or Land rover. It fails to have their excellent suspension articulation and is otherwise never designed to tackle any rugged terrain.
Finally, the Ford Explorer was used predominantly as a sport-utility vehicle and as a family vehicle. It was the first SUV to break into the list of the top 10 best selling vehicles in America during the year 1991. The present Ford Explorer apart from riding smoothly handles well. A great vehicle for long trips. Its convenient and comfortable factor lets you associate with it instantly.
